About Michael

I’m glad you are here and hope you find something useful.

Little About Me

Not much to say. I am a programmer at heart and luckily by trade. I’ve been creating software applications since I was 12 (that’s 1982 in case you want to do the math). It all started with a few programs written in BASIC.

As with many kids in the early 80’s, I got my start on the old Texas Instruments TI-994a. Soon thereafter moved to the Commodore 64. During that Commodore thing, some of my friends and I led a users group and participated in part of what would have been called the internet in the mid 80’s: BBS’s (Bulletin Board Systems)

We hosted our own private BBS’s (yes, we were kinda nerdy) that offered a variety of information and services. I rather enjoy thinking that we were among the pioneers.

As years went by, my interest in computers and programming never really died. Although it was a mere hobby to me, I found myself suddenly in the business in 1997. I wrote a script for my website, MoonGear.com, that would dynamically grab data and display it on the website. A stranger sent me an email asking where I found the application. It was then I realized I could sell web based software for a profit.

I continued this path for a few years and quit my day job in 2000. Living in South Carolina at the time, I decided to move back to my home in North East Ohio.

My business was really doing great. Then, from out of the blue, a big green one eyed monster… wait, that’s not how it happend….

It was more like a forty plus page law suit filed against my company. There were multiple counts against me including tortious interference with a contract, unjust enrichment and conspiracy. I pretty much had a shit fit.

However, over the next couple of years, I prepared myself for trial, defended myself and prevailed. You can find out more in my Blog Series “I Will Own Your Company”.

Anyway, I got out of the business.

Currently, I am the Director of IT for a Columbus area music company. I’m still writing applications and having a great time doing it.

Over the years, I have accumilated a few domain names. Many of them are just stupid-ass domains, but oh well. Anyway, I finally decided to put something here. So, here it is.

Regards,
Michael Love

About this blog

As with many blogs, this one contains posts of random thoughts and other articles of interest as I reminisce of events past. I will also talk about the new iPhone and perhaps post code snippets.

Who really knows for sure though. I guess you will have to check back.
